This sweet, beautiful wedding will always be one of my favorites. The bride is wedding planner Megan Keller of A Kurant Event, and I’ve worked with her for years here in Seattle. After spending a lot of nights together on loading docks at 2 am, you get to be pretty good friends! It felt so special to contribute to and celebrate her big day (and let’s be honest…finally get to dance at a wedding!) Being a wedding planner, Megan had seen it all. She really wanted something unique and different, and they found the perfect spot at Flying Horseshoe Ranch.
Megan planned the flowers and decor with another dear friend, Christiane Zweifler of Flora Nova, and then I got to jump in and help with the fun part! (See – this just keeps getting better!) I spent a couple lovely days in her gorgeous studio cranking out centerpieces, weaving flowers through hanging chandeliers and producing all the other goodies we whipped up for Megan and Aaron. It sort of made me want to rent a HUGE workspace and invite all of my Seattle colleagues to work in the same space because we had so much fun together!
After a fun little road trip over to the Ranch, we installed everything in some drizzle that stopped just in time for the celebration. And then the party started! Megan walked down the aisle to a lot of whoops and hollers; cocktail hour included a mechanical bull; dinner was the best BBQ I’ve had in these parts; and all of us wedding peeps that usually have to watch guests dancing boogied all night while Austin Beaver worked the turntable. To top it all off, there was no loading dock at 2 am, but a cozy teepee!
Christiane has more gorgeous photos on her blog, and the wedding is featured in the lastest issue of Seattle Bride.
